Some Chinese believe in the existence of a Tiger Lord,
and at the same time Chinese are eating tiger parts. Such irony!
Perhaps it is because the tiger is looked upon as such a
magnificent creature that man wants to be like it. My work tries to
deal with the plight of the tigers as well as the discrepancy of many
Chinese beliefs.
The print was created by printing the same tiger image twice in a
cyclical fashion. One tiger is darker and the other lighter. It is a
case of which is more important - the Tiger Lord as part of religious
belief, or the tiger parts as part of our cultural belief.
