A few prints by James Mundie
Editor's note: clicking on the title of each print will pop-up a window containing a larger size view of that image. In addition to this, rolling your mouse around each small image will reveal areas that can be clicked to pop-up some extreme close-up views (watch your browser's status line as you move around ...) In some browsers, this pop-up window may be left open as you return to this page to select another area for enlargement - which will then appear in that same window ...
Variation on a Chinese Lion for Phil Bivins (number 2 of an edition of 20) 1998;
black ink on kitakata, printed from a scrap of pine.(Phil's original 'Chinese Lion' is also in the Encyclopedia)
Untitled (1st state proof on kitakata) 1998; subsequently I cleaned up the blotchy textures around the nose and eyes. The final edition was printed in black on mulberry. (A photo of the block for this print is also available ...)
Untitled (3rd state proof) 1998; very quick proof, hence the uneven texture and missing navel.
Untitled (final cutting state) 1996; slightly uneven at top;
edition of twenty printed on kitakata in a slightly drier ink.
