I've done a number of ACEO prints. I used to trade and exchange them for the usual sort. It was fun, but I was the only one doing woodcut prints (and sometimes etchings). I would dearly love to have others' ACEO prints! 8-]

Okay guys,

So, I've been using my new stones for sharpening my tools up. They are fantastic and I'm getting an edge so much quicker...except with my small v-gouge.
I admit my knowledge on v-gouge sharpening is negligible but it's proving hard to get a good description on the correct way. Here's what I've found and you guys tell me if this sounds right. From numerous descriptions, it sounds like sharpening has to take place on three planes. The two flanking sides of the v-gouge are sharpened like two separate chisels. The place where they meet needs to be sharpened as if it were a u-gouge. This helped me out a bunch until I repeatedly hit the same problem three times. One side of my small v-gouge (veiner or liner) appears thicker than the other slightly. The thinner side always sharpens down to this strange rounded back sweep while the other side sharpens perfectly flat and straight like a chisel. My posture and hand positions are the same each time but my results are different. Consequently, the smaller side grinds down faster than the thicker side. I've sharpened this tool a few times before
and noticed it's preference for one side before but not this bad. What do you think I should do? Should I just give up and buy a new tool or is there a trouble shoot to this apparent defect?

Linda Beeman on behalf of George Jarvis here. He is here in Awaji at the moku hanga conference (as are a lot of Baren Forum members!!!) and wishes me to let you know, yes, he is confirming his participation in exchange 49.
I wish you all could be here and there is talk of another one in 3-5 years so start planning and saving now! It has changed my life and art already. My heart and head are FULL!

Subject: Cleaning and New Print Planning

Yesterday I was in studio all day cleaning and will be again today. Feels good to be here decluttering, pitching, and simplifying. Clearing for the soul as well.

Now that my last child has graduated from high school, I look forward to putting my new haiku print ideas into action. I want to construct a new device and will be working large :)

May not have photos of my new project for awhile so I'll be posting pics of my studio after its clean!
