There is now a link on the main Baren website for those interested in info

carefully and contact Le Green for any questions or concerns....there are
approximately 22 bareners signup but plans allow for up to 40 or more

Hello,

Last Friday I was privileged to attend a demonstration and workshop on
Moku Hanga with the Japanese woodcut artist/printmaker Mr Tatsuya Ito at
one of our local universities here in Brisbane put on by the
Consulate-General of Japan.

Having taught myself through books and the occasional online video, it was
wonderful to see a expert printmaker first-hand for the first time. Apart
from relishing watching every step of the process as he reproduced
Hiroshige's 'Kiyomizu Hall And Shinobazu Pond At Ueno' with seven double
sided blocks, I think it was his deft hand at registration that impressed
me the most.

I took lots of notes and even a few photographs and after three years with
oils and woodcuts in the western tradition, I think the finer points of
the moku hanga process has been demystified enough for me to try my hand
at this style.

Onward and upward!

Alex.

How wonderful. I was in Byron Bay at that time. If I only knew....only 2 hours away. Please share your photos.
