I just scanned (no pun intended) the information about photographing
work, but I did not see the mention of the use of a scanner. If the
work is small enough, I just scan it and then make the adjustments in
Photoshop. More and more competitions are asking for CD's or their
entries are on line, so I think it is unnecessary to get slides made.
If, however, something you want to enter requires a slide you can
always have some made from your CD, and the turn-around time is
generally only a day or two. Using the scanner, whenever possible,
sure cuts down on the hardest part (for me, anyway) the part about
getting everything focused and straight with the world. That can
drive you plum nutz, that's my excuse, at least!

Cheers ~

Sharri is spot-on regarding scanning of smaller work. I've even seen
demonstrations scanning huge work, scanned in sections, and then 'sewn' together
in Photoshop. You need to have a second scanner and the ability to get down on
your knees on the floor, both of which I lack, so can't vouch for how easy it
is.

And I've used www.iprintfromhome.com when I've needed slides. It's a lot
cheaper, quick, and less hassle than trying to find slide film these days... if
you have that type of camera anymore.

Regarding Exchange 46

I never did receive any reminders that I was enrolled in this exchange. Now
I guess I just woke up to the fact that I owe 31 prints due November 1. I
was just wondering, am I enrolled? Who is the coordinator? Did that
person's messages get put into my trash bin by mistake? Please let me know
if I need to produce the prints. I might need a couple of weeks.
jeanwomack@gmail.com

If you look on the page where it says active exchangse and click on the
information button on the Exchange 46 page, it takes you to Exchange 47
information.
It's probably my fault.
Thanks a whole lot.

Jean...

I'm the coordinator and have been extremely frustrated because all
communications to you have bounced back... and I never heard from you when I
sent a plea to Baren asking you to contact me. And now I see that your email
address is not the one you signed up on the form... Oh, dear!

Yes, please, we need you in this exchange. I've been counting on you as you
have been one of our stalwart printmakers. Contact me directly
(cutterstudio@yahoo.com) so we can get this sorted out...
