Not 'we' ... 'you'! Thanks for the heroic efforts for getting all
that stuff put together!

Hi Bareners,

Thought you might like to read Cullom Gallery's blog post about
Barener Eva Pietzcker's show which is just winding up. Some nice
photos of Eva and her large-scale moku hanga landscapes. Tomorrow
(Sat.) is the last day of the show.

Thanks, Maria, for getting these maps up. They are spectacular! And,
congratulations to all you mapmakers for seeing such a monumental exchange
to its conclusion. These must be incredible prints to see "in the flesh".
Keepers, all!

Namaste,
Eileen

A few years back I wrote on Baren about one of China's premier printmakers...Liao Shiou-ping.Knot X - 1999

Earlier this year, Taiwan’s Council for Cultural Affairs awarded graphic artist Liao Shiou-ping one of three National Cultural Awards. The 74-year-old artist, renowned for blending Western printmaking techniques with traditional Taiwanese and Chinese influences, was recognised for his outstanding contribution to Taiwan culture.

Two more ... regular as clockwork, I am this week!

The base tone for the sky. Although this is a night scene, the original designer (or the printers, more likely) decided not to make it all that dark. But once we're done, it'll look very atmospheric, I think ...

And finally we get some colour. There will be three impressions in all on this persimmon, but we start with this base tone of a slightly 'dirty' vermillion.

(And again, the 'invisible' partner print is also making progress too)
