That's a handsome Raven, Viza. Enjoyed viewing your other prints,
especially Hibiscus.

Andrew,

Opportunity has knocked, go with it. How can it be beneath an artist
to have their image displayed on a T-shirt? It is out there for
everyone to see. A show is a show. I remember when i hung a show in a
small town city hall. A gallery owner stopped by and saw one persons
work and invited them to do a show. What a nice break for her. It
was a high end gallery and may have generated many good sales for
her. All because she hung her work in a public place. I once sold a
piece that was hung in a small town post office. You never know.
Congrats on the sale and good luck with this venture.

Is the sign up page for the "maps" exchange there yet?

Thanks Cyndy! i live outside Cheney we should get together sometime. I'm
such a hermit but maybe sometime i could drop by SFCC and check out the
printmaking department. EWU doesn't have any printmaking classes as far as i
know.

Hi Andrew--
Definitely do both. Nothing slumming about coffee shops, or any other
reputable public venue. Ditto for t-shirts. Just make sure you get
some compensation/recognition for letting them use your image. Which
coffee shop? I'll stop by! :)

And for anyone else who lives in the Santa Cruz area:
My Fairy Tale series of prints are on display at the Simpkins Swim
Center in Santa Cruz, now through May 30. It's on 17th Ave., just
below Capitola Rd. Hours vary; check before you go.

Subject: A Season of Renewal
Posted by: Robert Simola

At my house California poppies and lupin are competing for pride of place, but no matter which wins, I do. One of my favorite combinations of colors are orange/gold and purple. And while January first may be the official start of the new year, the new year starts for me when the wild flowers start to appear and the fruit trees are full of blossoms promising a bountiful harvest in the late summer and fall.

This year I have more reasons than most for the promises of life. I am still here to see the spring, and thanks to an amazing surgeon at the USC Cancer Center, I have every reason to expect to be around for a good, long time.

It has been too long since I have been able to work in my studio, but I finally have an idea for my next print. It will be the fourth in my series on changing seasons. Now all I have to do is try to make the reality match the vision.
