Viza - this is a super video - I'm curious re the first print that's
made before the wood gradation - he just slops (already mixed ink and
paste I presume) the ink on before brushing it out but in the next
trial print after graduating the edges does the traditional drops of
pigment and blobs of paste.. do many printers do the first, I wonder...?

Brilliant achievement
David - I will be there - engraving, (hopefully) selling my prints together with a new print portfolio and a couple of my handmade books. Its a great event!

Hello Bareners,
In my attempt to go from reduction prints to multi-block, I'm encountering a whole new world -- and all new problems! Perhaps you can help.
I use poplar blocks, and despite sanding...and sanding...and sanding, I'm still getting a very open grain that is really bothering me. I work small (6"x4") so I need to get as much ink on the sheet for impact. Will varnishing, or using glue, help me with this? Any guidance is appreciated because the only alternative I'm feeling right now is linoleum, and I really prefer wood. Thank you!
