I would say to the actor that this artist seems motivated to create
what is original for him. This does sound like a dedicated artist.
The time one takes to create is different for everyone. When I first
read the request for input the one thing that struck me was a
statement that everything had to be perfect, that no corrections could
take place. This sounds odd to me as we have all talked about how to
glue in a piece we have accidentally carved away or how to fill in
with whatever we choose to use for the purpose. As for studio costs,
it depends. Pigments, and paper are going to cost in a tidy sum. Is
the artist doing oil or water based printing. Does this artist use a
press or is he using a Baren or wooden spoon?? Presses easily run
into the thousands, but can be lower in cost or hand built. There are
a lot of variables to cost, but if he is professional and serious than
he would at least use professional printing inks and acid free quality
paper. I agree about the lack of sleep, that would only cause errors
in carving. But it does make him sound dedicated and hard working.
Maria, I too am sad that you can not have the summit in Nevada. I
hope your family situation is not too serious and things will be fine
for you and yours. San Antonio is beautiful, lets hope this can be
worked out. Maria you are leader here on Baren and it would be
wonderful if you could make it for this summit.
