Hmm I bought this little Mac about 4 or 5 months ago and had to switch
from hotmail because Mircrosoft and Apple do not get along. To get a
program that was compatible with the mail program on my Mac the tech
suggested gmail. I have been thrilled and have had absolutely no spam
and I do not have a special spam filter! The old hotmail is still
active and all that is in there is spam, hordes of spam! Gmail is
excellent.
A swap shop that makes one mail out parcels to people all over seems
risky to me. When we choose exchange coordinators we try to choose
someone who has been an active member who has done exchanges before. I
would be uncomfortable sending off 5 to 7 prints to just anyone who
asked??? That is the purpose of a coordinator, someone we can rely on
to safely get us our prints. Look at the New Years exchange, we
always have some who never send cards. A one to one exchange could be
managed by a coordinator matching people together, say by size and
type of print they wish to exchange. And, leaving the old rules
intact for those who wished to send in more than one might still be an
option. But, if you mailed our coordinator say 5 prints she could
pick out 5 people for the one to one exchange and get you say 5
prints. There also needs to be some sort of deadline or one might wait
years before getting their prints.

Hi, All - I have had a yahoo email account for over ten years now - I went through a period last year of huge amounts of spam. (I thought, What's this about?!) It stopped and that's the only problem I've had in all this time. I, too, have an apple. Sincerely, Carol Montgomery P.S. My work is on the www.caprintmakers.org website.
Hey Marilynn.....
There is not such thing as a little Mac.
There are cute one. There are powerful ones. There are sexy ones.
There are innovative designed ones... have all been since 1985.
They are all intuitive and with some of the most advised ideas and
technology ever... If you don’t think that is true .... ask yourself,
why has Windoz copied the desktop theme and so many features from the
Mac system. The one thing the engineers can't get right is, how to
prevent viruses in the Windoz. In 22 years I have never needed a
virus protection application.

Have a gooder day.

Can we take this old, tired, stale and thoroughly innacurate debate somewhere
else, please? It's a real yawner. 'Sides which, any system is only as good as
the IT care given it -- I use both without a hitch and have done for some years.
Hi David....
Just a little leg pulling never hurt anyone.
Have a nice day
Graham
I too have used both platforms.
Wow, I just read my response to baren wrapping and realized it could
have come across really mean-spirited and nasty. It was not meant
that way - when I wrote it I was laughing and thought I was just
recounting my personal experience. Please accept apologies if anyone
was offended. I guess some days it is better to keep ones thoughts to
oneself. Yikes!
;-)

You are so right David.
It is interesting that you should post this re this subject...
I have lost count of the number of posts that have been off topic in
the last month or so.
Shall certainly be watchful in the future...

People in regard to off topic posts, I've been quiet lately about it,
but watching. I don't relish being a killjoy, but once complaints
start dribbling in, then it's time to get back to the wonderful world
of printmaking talk.
