Not by me, unless it was under a very different email address! You can always

Hope this helps,

Subject: [Baren 37312] Kento question
Send Message: To this poster

Hi Bareners,

Sorry if I'm asking a worn-out question, but want to sort out the kento
thing. I thought the "marks" were actually carved into the blocks and you
placed your paper into them as you printed. (And maybe this IS correct!)

But looking more closely at Dave's step-by-step hanga guide, the kento marks
look like actual marks and not grooves. I looked at Carole Baker's photo
description of hanga and couldn't tell there either.

For those of you who have had the opportunity to attend a workshop, this is
all apparent, but to me struggling with knowledge via internet, the photos
sometimes hard to figure.

Is there anyone out there who can describe the kento marks as marks or
grooves. Maybe someone else had this same question.

Thanks so much!

It's groovy.
But some of us clip the paper onto the side. That prevents the paper from
ever moving and let's you flip it over to see what's happening. No one has
ever asked if I "groove" or "clip"

If you go to my site..... www.woodblockart.ca/how-to/index.html
On the right hand side you will see link to “Cut a Kento”
This is a very accurate step by step....
You always cut the kento into the wood....
and you then always place the paper into these
areas.... It is a 100 full proof method of getting
perfect registration be it for 2 colours or 200 colours.
I should point out the bottom kento is cut with the same
tools. I have an image that shows the margin dimensions
and the exact position of the bottom kento...
Let me know if you would like me to sent it.

You can remove the sheet and have a look and reposition it to print
the same colour again.
You can “Brick” the print... place a heavy weight on the print in a
position that allows
you to lift the print and have a looky lou at the area you want.
Works for me.
