Theme: Mirror Image (what we see isn't always what's really there)

Moku-Hanga works for me!

Dovetailing on Linda's comment, I'd love the challenge of moku hanga. The Summit got me into woodcut but I have yet to try the 'real deal' and this would be the perfect excuse to take up the gauntlet and run with it.

Regarding theme, because of the size (long and skinny), I'd love garden/plants or landscape ... something in that range (no pun intended, of course).

Maria and Bareners,

Great idea to make an all moku hanga exchange, and I would like to suggest
self-portrait as a possible theme.

Peace,
Eileen

Hi again Linda,

I'm not sure why your complete profile is printing, but I have a guess. Did
you fill out those other questions on the profile -- all those interests and
favorites? If not, perhaps it left enough room for your complete profile to
fill the space instead? *shrug* I really don't know. I just noticed your
profile didn't look full of trivia like mine. ;-]

Regarding Exchange 39, the long, thin "pillar print" format is a really nice
creative challenge (see the gallery for Exchange 33, which I had the
pleasure to be involved in).

Could I suggest a theme: "A Personal View"

This could include a favourite place or landscape, or an image that reflects
a personal belief or standpoint. Either way, the print will say something
about the maker, which, in our distant locations around the world, would
help us all get to know each other just a little better.

I couldn't have said it better myself, for archival-ility I also wish
that the work is of heirloom quality at least, and to be sure that the
clients who collect my work will be happy with a piece that they can
enjoy for many years. After that the curators can battle it out.

Thanks to all who responded about the adhesives question. I am using
matte medium for the 'books' I am making -- they are actually kind of
like screens with many collage elements from prints old (1980s) and
new. Fascinating-- to weave the old and new together in a 'story'.

Exchange 37a is absoutely beautiful. So many thoughtful images, I will
be proud and happy to share it with my classes. Thank you all very
much. Another kudo to Maria for the great colophon thank you thank you.

A mil merci!

lana, i wouldn't worry about the vampires. there's bigger things in life than to worry about the opinion of a perfect stranger.

and a self portrait sounds awesome. i don't know about the moku hanga part though. don't know how to do that.

if it's an any kind of print self portrait then i want to be in on this one
