Wow is right. I now remember about the cadmiums being toxic. Guess
it is old age, I am not recalling hearing so much about other oil
paints being of a toxic nature. How informative and good for ones
health this discussion is. Take care of yourselves, we want all of
you around a long time, healthy and working hard!

I'm reading such a good book, "Color, a Natural History of the
Palette" by Victoria Finlay. It reads like a novel, but is a
wealth of information on the history of color and the way we
make colors, historically and now! It seems to fit into the
current discussion of paints and inks, and what is in them! I
think you'd enjoy it!

Hello all!

I have also read this book and have shared many of the
ancedotes/histories of the use of the color sources with my classes.
The participants enjoy the information as it creates another level of
intrest and fascination for the materials they are using. I recommend
this book to everyone in the arts.
