I use oily ink for some of my relief prints and all my etchings. i use paint thinner, acetone and vegetable oil
mainly for clean up. i don't think i am killing myself. maybe it just doesn't seem so bad when compared with the
years i spent screen printing with commercial screen printing inks and nasty solvents like lacquer thinner and MEK.
as far as etching is concerned i haven't found a water-based ink i like as much as the oily ones. same goes for western
style water-based relief ink. they just aren't as rich looking. i have been enjoying moku-hanga much more since i bought
a ball bearing baren. i quit smoking, moved to the country and eat organic foods so i feel like i can indulge myself with>
oily inks and solvents.

Amanda,
Try Liquid gloves. You can get it all home improvement stores in the paint dept. It says it creates a
barrier between you and the paint. Will be effective for your purposes.

Oh Graham Buddy....
You are so silly! I'm sure that nobody wants to know of your fantasy life
other than your printmaking...
