Hi Group,
I went to an estate sale today which said it would
have "printing blocks". I think dealers took most of
them but I got a few (they were letterpress
blocks)--they were by a man named Arthur W. Rushmore.
He had a fine art press and his daughter, Delight (!),
designed paste paper for the books they printed and
she also designed pottery. Behind a frame I bought I
found a proof of an engraving by John DePol which he
had sent as a letter to Delight Rushmore Lewis (aka
Mrs. Faulkner Lewis). As I did research on John
DePol I stumbled onto a woodblock engraving How To
featuring John DePol. Check it out!
