Hi All,
I just loved looking at Ainesse's studio space. It is
fascinating to see all the different ways that artists
organize and cope with the space available to them. I
have so many questions! So what are the cartridge
guns on the wall? Is that Graphic chemical ink? I
have cartridges but only one gun. Do you get a gun
for each color? I, too end up using my etching press
as a temprorary table space.
I just got a "new" etching press on ebay. It was
like adopting an orphan with a lot of potential. The
seller called it a proof press and by his description
I figure he didn't really know much about etching
presses. It was missing the bed, most of the turning
arms and the little bars that turn the tension
adjustment screws but I knew I could fix these
problems. It is wider than my old press (16" instead
of 12") and has gears which I now find is a major
great asset as it's much easier to turn!!
So now I want to sort of upgrade the space around my
Precious Monster. I dropped him on my finger in a
vain attempt to take him apart to make it easier to
carry him upstairs so I now have a great respect for
the mass and power of his cast iron body. Plus he's
Japanese! Shin Nihon Zokei is the manufacturer.
Anybody ever hear of such a thing?

Hello All; My piggie was dressed for market almost a year ago now, then I
had trouble with my ink when I went to print it. Discouraged, and distracted
by the steady onslaught of other projects--I am a landlady, and there is
always some big project---I watched him kick around on the desk of my
studio, waiting....waiting. So now he has a rat on his tail. I am one of
those who will be sending my pig and rat together, and soon! Thank you all
who sent theirs and all who will be.
