Hello all!

My name is Shawn Newton and I'm a printa-holic.
All: Hi Shawn.

I have a few prints of mine (and other weird
artifacts) over at
http://holdensdad.deviantart.com if you decide to
see what it is I do.

I love to print. The cutting is a soothing
meditation for me. I use Rammelson woodcut tools
and cut vinyl flooring. I started out with
linoleum of course. That's how I got addicted.
Then I moved on to Birch ply, which I wasn't too
happy with. It's expensive and heavy and there
are holes under the veneer. But that's what Tom
Huck recommended. (he's at
http://www.evilprints.com) So I messed with
that, then solid poplar, which cuts funny. I've
never used anything fancier than Birch b/c I just
plain can't afford it. So, I tried vinyl. I got
a huge chunk from a local flooring store for $5.
I can get it at my local Fred's store for $20 for
9X12 feet. So about 40 cents a sq. ft.

Anywho... hope I have something to offer. I
might even join in on the fairy tale print if I
have time. I'm currently interning to be an art
teacher. Certified P-12 but I'd prefer
secondary.
