The card exchange is a fun one, even though I have been rankling about not
receiving a large portion of the cards. I really would like to solve this
as so many on the list, especially those who have sent me emails saying you
mailed cards are very active and giving members. I am looking for something
in common with all those who have mailed that I did not get. I thought
maybe the clear bags were the problem, maybe they are BUT READ BELOW!
Also am thinking that if it is just me and one other person with such a low
count that something is wrong on my end. I have to wait and finish
unpacking to be sure what is going on. (and that could be all summer long)
The year of the dog we did not go south until February, so I was here to
both mail on time and recieve the early cards on time. The reason we were
late is because we were MOVING from the mobile home into our house. OOOPS,
did I say moving???? I might have found my answer!!! MOVING, what an IDIOT
I AM. What CHAOS moving is. And most of the missing cards are the earlier
mailed ones. Cards that would have arrived during the MOVING!!! You have
not seen the piles of boxes in that studio or you would cringe. My husband
even asked if I was sure I had not put them elsewhere. I said no I have
this special spot for them, right in this cubby hole. But that cubby hole
did not exist until after we MOVED. I owe everyone an APOLOGY. I had not
even thought of the move, gads I am always moving, north to south, off to
the boat, off to Portland, off to Vegas to see the kids. I must be half
brain dead with moving! I will sort this out and finish mailing out my year
of the pig cards. Oh yes and the pigs are coming in almost daily now. What
fun they are. Again, MY APOLOGIES. It did wake up the list though and got
people moving and thinking, especially those who have not done their cards
yet.
Now I really will SHUT UP AND GET CARVING!!!
I have to say that Baren is a fine community of artists and those whom I
have met are all wonderful people. Gotta go and think about that darn
MOVING!! Here doggie, doggie where oh where have the little doggies
gone?????? Please bark so I can find you.
Marilynn
Marilynn, I used regular old us postal service to send my year of the dog
cards, as I have every year. I know for sure I sent you one, as I did to every
single person on the list.
sounds like something strange may be going on w/your mail delivery.

HI Sara
The Hydraulic (Press) is made by CENTRAL HYDRAULICS
The # is SKU # S 1666
It is a 6 ton Hydraulic Jack or 6 ton Hydraulic Shop Press.
I use it for cards and small prints. I can go up to 5"x"5 image.
I can send you a picture in your e mail?????

Hi Group,
I noticed that a lot of the bloggers on Baren use an
address with "blogspot.com". I tried to figure out
more about it online but couldn't seem to find it. Is
this a free or inexpensive service?
Lynn
Hi, Lynn...
When you have a blog with www.blogger.com the address they give you then becomes "www. + your blog name + blogspot.com". It doesn't seem to make sense but it works. Blogger is free and you can set up your own. I've found it much easier to update than my website, which has become the neglected child. I'm a dinosaur when it comes to computers but if I can keep one going... anyone can.

Hi folks, I'm pondering getting a relatively small to medium-ish press and
was looking at the Dick Blick 999 Model II Etching Press (which apparently
prints size up to 17 x 35). Do any of you have experience w/this press or any
other types of presses which hopefully do not take up a huge amount of space but
which could print a reasonable-size paper? feel free to email me offline
if you feel this is a topic which has been gone over too many times on-list.
many thanks
Sarah
I know this is getting very old, but for those of you in the year of the boar exchange, I sent out my cards, such as they are, last Thursday, and those that returned (17) in regular envelopes on Friday (May 4). If you haven't gotten anything from me by this coming Thursday (May 18), please contact me off-list and I will try again, in a plain paper envelope.
