Dear Mike Lyon,
Please forgive me for trying to register more than once. I was unsure
whether it went thru or not, because I keep on getting error message that
told me I was too early for registration.
Actually I have been visiting regularly to Baren web site for quite a while,
I guess for more than three years. I enjoyed browsing thru the exchange
galleries and surfing most of the vast sections that you have, as well as
the links.
I am glad now I joined your community of artist printmakers.
Lots of thanks to Sharri LaPierre and Wendy Bell for responding to my
introduction message.
Regards,
Rahman
I've been happily receiving little piggies as they find their way to me - thank you Annie, Sarah, Jean and Monica (so far).
I've been surprised that they have all been in envelopes - I guess I assumed that we'd just mail the postcards out as postcards.
I thought it would be great fun getting stamps and postmarks from all over the world. I'm sure some of them would be a little worse for wear, but that could only add to the charm of their being postcards.
Has it been decided by all that they would rather preserve the integrity of the art? Is that the reasoning?
I'm fine with putting mine into envelopes - and I will, but I just wondered what others thought about it.
Terry
Renton, Washington
Terry,
They arrive both ways....I think we just have trouble having our art being stamped, spindled and mutilated...although that makes it a postcard. We are just wierd I guess...maybe it is too prescious to us...hahahaha We hate to see it dented.....or worse!
Best to all

New Year Exchange cards:
It is nice to receive these exchange cards however late they arrive,
especially ones like Monica Bright's that arrived today. Thank you
Monica.
LPE
Thank you to to Princess Rashid in sending the Large exchange prints
(LPE). I have yet to see them as they were so tightly rolled that I
have them lying flat for the time being, but have had a sneak preview
and am thrilled that I was part of this exchange again. Thank you
Princess.
How much do I still owe you for the postage?
PUZZLE PIECE
Maria I have sent my Cairn Puzzle block back to you today and included
$31.20AUS in International Postage Vouchers to cover my postage and a
bit of paper.... I think that should be OK I don't think Australia is
50c in your dollar yet! More like 79c today, so it will help
somewhere....maybe elbow grease!
Happy to be part of the Baren exchanges way down here.
HANGA WORKSHOP IN W. AUST
I have been asked to do two day workshops in April and May next year
here in Perth Western Australia on hanga woodblock prints. We have two
weeks in between days to give participants time to carve their blocks,
even though I have two calligraphy workshops I am attending given by
Irishman Denis Brown in between....
Happy New Year everyone.
Jan
Welcome, Steffan! I'm right across the Bay from you in Richmond. We'll get together for a printmaking session one of these days. Maybe it's time for a Bay Area Baren party!

Terry and all...
I guess it's up to the sender, really. I love the idea of the postage stamps, but hate the crumbled edges. I'm going to send mine out in one of those cello bags this time. That way you all can store them in the cello bag with postage but they will be tidier if you should want to save them in another fashion (like in a frame on your wall ... I wish).
I know my postman and the people down in my little post office love it when work comes in 'visable'. They are very reverent of all your work they see... In fact, every time I take in any kind of package, they always ask 'Do you want to insure your artwork?', even when it's not artwork... :) and we comment on the latest arrivals. You've made me quite popular there, always a good thing.
I, too, have piggies from Jean, Annie, Monica (plus a bonus... a dog), and Jan's five little Aussie piggies that should have gone to market but came to Puerto Rico instead. Delightful squeals abound in my studio. Thank you...
