Mike,
I totally understand the preference for a pure relief print. I will
definitely mull this over for awhile before I print. But I wanted to
throw it out there that I'm not trying to get out of carving or
anything. I have a very large crush on mixing two print mediums,
especially anything with silkscreen. The way that the texture of
relief is emphasized by the unnatural smoothness and matte finish of
silkscreen makes my heart race. I use this printing method with almost
all of my work. So I am not sure yet if I will go ahead with a little
silkscreening, or stick to pure block printing, but if I do submit
prints that aren't entirely printed from wood, that's why. Thanks!
