Hi,
Sorry to post this to the entire list, but the
participant list for the Summit is not yet up.
I was wondering if any body was thinking of
driving to the Summit from anyplace that might
be swinging by or near Santa Cruz, CA (between
San Francisco & San Jose, CA? I would be happy
to share gas cost and/or driving with someone
who might be driving and willing to pick me up
(and hopefully return me).
If someone is considering such a trip, please contact
me off list and we can explore the possibilities.
Thanks for reading.

On the Cairn, looks like the Nevada Arts Council will not be funding part of
the project. They consider it an out of state project even though I'm based
in Nevada because participants are scattered all over...or something. Didn't
seem to me that they even understood what we were doing but c'est la vie,
mes amis.
Regardless, the project goes on and I will begin my wood shopping next
weekend.

The other item...a while back I had the luck of being cast in the Home and
Garden Network (HGTV) show "That's Clever!" The filming crew was in my
studio for about 5-6 hours to obtain a whole 7 minutes of precious (ahem)
footage on the making of a puzzle woodcut. I was able to tape the thing in
analog form but have since digitized on DVD (did you know you can't
digitally record off some channels?).
So! I have a very humorous but also instructional DVD movie on the process
of making a puzzle woodcut, starring yours truly and, you too! can have your
very own copy one of two ways:
-Send a self-addressed bubble mailer or CD/DVD mailer or similar with enough
postage for 5oz. First Class ($1.35 US, $1.85 Canada, $4.65 Australia, $3.70
Japan, $4.75 most of Europe), a blank DVD-R and a chocolate chip cookie for
my trouble.
-Send $5.50 for US, $6.00 for Canada, $10.00 for the rest of the wide world
and your address(cash, check, PayPal to maria@mariarango.com or gold
nuggets). This covers DVD, jewel case, padded mailer and postage; the
unglamorous task of reproducing the darned thing is free...and
unglamorous...I need more RAM.
I am working on making a CD with stills of the process and I will upload the
slide show to my website, so if you want to wait for that...well, wait!
