dear bareners Gillyin Gatto in Maine here . greatly enjoying receiving
all the dogs and putting them up on the wall as they come. only checking my
mail once a week ,so late in responding to Ellen Shipley's comment on
sending the year of the DOG as postcards. i agree with John Center - it is
'mail art' and i have sent ALL my years of-Horse,Sheep, Monkey and Rooster
as postcards ,NOT in envelopes , and all have arrived safely as far as i
know. this year i purchased stamped postcards for .25 each and printed
right on them so the cards really only cost .02 !not bad--my dog card shows
my Newfy giving me a big kiss with his HUGE tongue-the 'echinacia pupuria'
or purple cone flowers in the foreground allude to the healing powers of
dog tongues. best wishes to all Bareners world -wide
for a happy new (and Peaceful) year.

Greetings Baren folks!

With all the inspiration I'm feeling, and with learning about this site from M. Lee. I have begun a new little project and store here: http://www.m.wilson.etsy.com But, primarily I just wanted to show one of my latest prints. If you have the chance check it out.

So many of my images are whimsical cartoons, that is fun to be able to create a landscape.

While I don't really have any questions I still love talking about
printmaking and my art. So here I am. Recently I ventured into the
square format with my art and I am
very happy with it. I am hooked. I started out making small 4"x4"
blocks but have gone up to 12" square now. I even ordered a bunch of
square blocks on McClain's that should arrive today. Does anybody else
like working in the square format? I would love to see examples of
what else can be done with it. I love how I can flip the block so many
ways and print again, it is very versatile.

Also, here is a link to a picture of my favorite
tool. I picked it up at a Utrect a number of years ago for $10 and
never used it until I got into woodcarving. I have seen engraving
tools that only have one set of lines not six go for over $30. It
creates some nice effects with ease.

Marissa,
These are very nice individually, but together they really have interest. You should consider exhibiting them with the images next to one another, in the same frame.
I think this is an exciting look for this work. You can print and chine colle the pieces to a larger sheet when they are dry...just an idea to consider.
Best to you,
Barbara
