Blogs -- What a good way to illustrate what you're talking about.
It was informative to read and see Nels' problems with his print, and
follow up with Barbara's answers.
Brad, I have a question for you. The lettering looks fairly
consistent within each of your prints for the Zyzzyva publication.
Did you use type or did you carve all that? It looks carved, of
course, and that's no easy task. What wood did you use?
Carole, I appreciate your frustration at the missing postcard
prints. I too have let you (and everyone else) down. As I said the
other day, it will be rectified within the next six months. No dogs
for me, though. Learning about my limits, and see several big
projects coming up in the community (the Infinitree Project,
designing a tee shirt for the Raccoon County Music Festival, and two
other commissions from people who want me to illustrate a poem as
well as a quote). As for the rooster, it has taken the longest time
to "see" him in imagination, but lately he comes a little clearer.

Sorry to still be using hotmail. It seems that it wiill no longer work in conjunction with my outlook express program. I am thinking on changing my email address for just this list to make it easier for our archivist. Anyway, Carole, I understand what you are saying. I have not received as many roosters as I sent out. But they do seem to be trickling in. I will just send off my dog prints as soon as I can and hope for a return print from everyone on the list. I probably willl not get it finished before we go south, but maybe??? I am carving my first block for it at the moment. This is a more relaxed exchange so I decided to keep doing it after one year out because being late does not seem to be a huge problem. I can not imagine trying to keep track of who has sent me a card just to wait to get one. I just mail them all at once and it is over with!
Best wishes for a very Merry Christmas

Hi Bareners,
Not that I am now in an exchange, but I know from experience that some
participants work very very hard to meet deadlines. I want to speak for them.
Is it fair to have such open- ended deadlines for exchanges and keep the
organizers and the on-timers waiting?

Hooray, my Richeson Baby Press is here!
So, I can do larger series on smaller prints, monotypes, etchings, etc... I
am so happy!
Anybody with advice, ping me off line, I can use any advice out there.

PS this means I can finally do my rooster prints for all those who gave up
on me.
Brad,
Kudos, and thanks, for the first Year of the Dog card. It's a winner. May
you print long and prosper!
and
Carole Baker,
I can sympathize with your feelings about missing exchange cards from
previous years. As I was so late in getting out my roosters, and had lost my
list of those to whom I did mail out to,
I would like to repeat my request that anyone who had signed up for the year
of the Rooster and did not receive one from me to contact me off list with
that info.
Best to all,
Carol in Sacramento

Dan,
How big is it? I just bought a small press from this same company from our local art supply store, it is 11" wide. The best part is I can lift it in and out of the car easily so I can take it with me to schools. I too am excited to use it! We will have to compare notes once we use it.
Best to you,
Barbara
yay, Carole, for speaking up...I confess-- I was very late with the
rooster--just got mine out a week or so ago, and I sent mine only to
those who had sent me a rooster or a monkey from the previous
exchange. I will make my dogs as postcards, and send again to all on
the list (as I did with the monkeys), with high hopes that those who
sign up will eventually come through....
It is a delight to see all the many ideas on a theme. Thank you all
for your efforts.
