THE JACKLEG TESTAMENT at the Museum of Contemporary Art
"Artist Jay Bolotin spent years taking digital photos of his woodblock prints, loading the photos into his computer and then manipulating the figures into moving images to create "The Jackleg Testament Part I." His characters are puppet-like and choppy, giving the "woodcut motion picture" a never-seen-before look that’s been intriguing audiences since its first opening in Cincinnati earlier this year. Jay Bolotin: The Jackleg Testament opens at the downtown location of the Museum of Contemporary Art, 1001 Kettner Blvd., on Sunday, Dec. 18. Bolotin’s large-scale sculptures and original woodblock prints will also be on display.
1001 Kettner Blvd., San Diego, 619-234-1001. Opening Sunday, Dec. 18.
