... Then again, you may be more interested in Japanese prints rather than photography. In that case, Saline's "Artists Among Us'' lecture by David Weinberg on that same evening (Tuesday, Nov. 8) may be what you're looking for.

According to spokesperson Valerie Mann, "Dr. Weinberg has been collecting Japanese woodblock prints for over 20 years and has published 'Kuniyoshi: the Faithful Samurai' telling the story of Kuniyoshi prints depicting the 47 samurai who loyally supported their Lord Asano and took revenge in his honor.''

Weinberg's talk, "Sleuthing the Ako Legend from its Burial Grounds, Temples, Chronicles, and Prints,'' will recount his "Kuniyoshi'' odyssey that has taken him from London and Leiden to Tokyo and Ako. There's no cost for admission. The lecture will be held at 7 p.m. in the Saline Public Library, 555 N. Maple Road. For more information, call (734) 429-0008.

Ok Jan....big thanks for the reminder...the signup for the Year of the Dog
exchange is now open....this is the annual Chinese New Year informal
exchange between Baren members....this is where you make a bunch of 4X6
postcard sized prints (not limited to woodblock) and send one out to every
person in the signup list....signup will stay open for a month or so...

For those still working on your Roosters, Monkeys...whatever...you can
find links to those addresses from the new Dog signup page....I will
upload more Rooster images for display later in the week...
