Brief wrap-up of the Tengu at work.
Early on, just before the year of the Rooster, I was walking in the park, as I do each afternoon - walking the dogs (who may or may not have their own uncanny devices) when I spied on the ground an unopened KFC refresher towelette. On the wrapper was Colonel Sanders, this will do for my baren card exchange thought I. Flash forward to current Tengu postings. KFC are featuring Tengu, the bird-headed humanoids in their advertising and Julio picks this up at the very moment he is reading Tengu info on the barenforum. If the Tengu are toying with baren business, perhaps we need to check that we have affairs in order etc. They are clearly making a strong bid to be considered for a print exchange.
Tom
Tom,
This is a great idea. For over 20 years I used the anthromorphic figures, many with bird heads, in my work. It would be great to do an exchange of all these figures. It is interesting how each ancient culture has similar beings in their mythology. Makes one think we are all the same at some basic level, doesn't it??? :~> I have moved on to very abastract work, but still love these images.
Also I would like to see another all hanga exchange. We talk about it but don't do it....lets get it scheduled! Everyone should try it at least once. I know some of the people who did it last time said ... "never again" ... but maybe they will weaken! The more you do it, the easier it is.
Best to all,
Barbara
I second or third Tom's idea for a Tengu (or maybe mythical figures)
exchange....I am with you Barbara...
Julio
I, for one, would be interested merely because I've never done a hanga and this would spur me into action...

Hey Andy, did you see those pelicans in San Francisco? SF is my hometown and so I get back there from time to time. These look like the characters that I always see flying over the bay when I go down to the Marina area.
glad you're having a terrific time!
