Gillyn, good site, thanks for sharing and congragulations on your retro show.

Has anyone found that humidity affects printing a lot? I was happily running my dreams and visions series and had yesterday set out to finish the run. They had been coming off well, good images. It had been warm and dry but we had a thunderstorm and rain yesterday. When I went to run my prints they acted like I was over inking the plate, but even when I used less ink the image was blurring. I decided to set it aside and wait for a warm spell to finish the series. I am using oil based ink and somerset paper???? Should I let the paper dry out more or what, if it has been raining???

Marilynn,
If your work is bluring with oil based ink, that is the ink bleeding into the white areas, the paper is definitely too wet. If you are using oil based ink try printing dry or almost dry.

Well, mercy me, I seem to have done it again. You are right, Marilynn,
there is a Woodcrafters in addition to Woodcraft. (They did that
intentionally to confuse the unsuspecting consumer.) The store I went
to in SE (the one that wasn't there anymore because they had moved to
Tigard) was a real disappointment, and had I known about Woodcrafter I
could have just swung by there - they were spittin' distance from one
another. Thanks for the info - I will have to check them out. The
other local supplier is called Crosscut Hardwoods and is at 3065 NW
Front Ave., Portland. I have not been to either Woodcrafter or
Crosscut, but plan to get to them both this week. I suspect that
Crosscut is going to have the best prices, but not the best selection.
Stay tuned, exciting things are about to happen and your slightly
confused Girl Reporter will be back with the goods, just as soon as she
gets this foot out of her mouth.

Cheers,
Sharri
