About the play ART-- I had a vague idea of the ending and my husband had the
same vague idea. At the end one of the characters draws a big line like a
ski slope, on the canvas and then says something witty.
What would we say?? Maybe "Now it's worth millions!" "Now it's Art!"

A totally embossed woodblockprint is an idea...

No problem! I wish I could come. Florence & Siena are 2 of my
favorite places in Italy!

Ooops! Sorry folks, I meant to send that to Dan privately - but I was
too quick on the thank you - it was Gayle who took care of inserting
Dan's announcement! Best wishes to everyone who gets to attend this
workshop - although how anyone could get any work done while in Italy -
I just don't know! :-)

There's a local gallery here in Vegas that is requesting proposals for shows
in the 2005 season. As much as they are pushing the ap, I'm guessing that
the chances are fairly good that we can get a show. I say "we" because they
want group shows, at least two artists of related media/theme/etc. I thought
maybe figurative woodcuts would be a cool show.

The catch is that the application deadline is in two weeks, Friday Jan 21st.
I will be happy to put together the proposal and fees but need slides from
at least two or three other woodcut artists that "do" figures. I would need
the slides yesterday, along with an artist's resume or c.v. If we get the
show, I would also be responsible for receiving the works and hanging and
all that fun stuff, although the work should be sent ready to hang (framed).
All I need now is about 5 slides and a resume. Sales are often likely.

Any takers? Anyone? Please respond off list and mail out slides and resume
like...NOW! Actually USPS Priority Mail should suffice. The gallery is a
long time running Co-op, Contemporary Arts Collective, set in the heart of
the arts district in Las Vegas, Nevada. I can email the prospectus
guidelines for more details.

land of the famous tennis player Gustavo Kuerten,
three times won Roland Garros,

Please don't say must to be delected.

Interesting Robert C saying he paint white in white
and what all you said about the reminisenses...

How could you help me to read "ART"???

Thank you.

Hi all Bareners

I got this in email, and I'm wondering if any of you have heard about this mysterious woodcut artist

She believes it is Ben Hurst, Binhurst or Binhirst etc. All that I know is he did most of his woodcuts in the 1970's. I am sorry for such an obscure question, but I thought you might have some insight.

A very good way of finding artists such as this is to go the the Smithsonian
web site and look up American artists. Play a bit and you can find a lot.
You may also ask the curators by email and they are very willing to help.
They love a challenge!
