Hi All,
Well, it's been awhile but this exchange is finally going to be collated. I'm starting this weekend. This being the case I would like everyone who hasn't sent information on their print to do so ..... also, any of you who have changed your address or have specific mailing instructions please let me know. Am assuming that all of you (other than the Australian contingent) have sent postage ..... if not, now is the time to do it.
Also have an important question about packaging. I was planning to switch most of you over to padded mailers .... is this O.K. with you or are your prints in favorite boxes?? Let me know!
Will let everyone know when the exchange is in the mail. Until then....
Regards,
Barbara Patera
Hi Barbara
Package mailers are ok with me.
I hope I remembered to send the colophon information to you, if not , let me know.
Happy packaging. I will help you celebrate when the last package is mailed. It is quite a responsibility and Coordinators should be given a medal, or a dinner or something special. If I were closer we could drink to that!!!!

I organized a large exchange for a group of photographers a couple of years
ago. Several participants sent me an extra print from another edition as a
gift for coordinating the exchange. I thought that was a really graceful
gesture, and it made me feel special to get a little extra something out of
the exchange that no one else had. Since then I've been promoting that this
idea should be standard print exchange practice.

Well, often it is hard enough to get the prints on time. i say a nice thank
you and following rules are plenty enough. I remember a few extras I got
when I coordinated and they were indeed special. However, just send enough
postage, a return address label and a box large enough to hold the
prints!!!. it is fun to coordinate, everyone should do it at least once,
just so they know. It is one of those experineces that indeed is walking in
those shoes, you don't really understand until you do it. I would gladly do
it again. But gads i am in Baja half the year and traveiing at least
another month. Try sending regular mail from down here, hahahaha, you
might get it by 2006.
I have kept a digital photo record of my reductiom print, such as it is. The
first one has a giant learning curve. I will be doing more of them, great fun!

Hi Barb,
Man we are all pretty sad people here since none of remember what we sent
with our prints... Oh well, must be everyone has other things on their mind.
I don't know if I sent the colophon information, but I did include a letter
with my prints. I had two computers crash on me and the doc file with the
backup of the letter is irretrievably lost.... I must have sent the colophon
info in the letter.
Feel free to package my prints however you feel would be best, you may reuse
the protective boards I packaged on the outside of my prints.
I also included a copy of my small engraving "Mountain Peak" to go with each
self portrait print as a bonus. If it is too much extra work to include it
just leave them out.

Any form of packaging for the self-portrait exchange is fine with me.
(And I'm pretty sure I sent in my colophon....)
