happened to all the missing cards ?

Hi Murilo, I tried to send this question to your email offlist but it bounced
back to me.
I'd be happy to send you color copies of a self-portrait, but I wanted to
check with you on the size of the copy. Is it all right to send 81/2" x 11"
paper? It's not so easy to find A4 paper here in the states. I suppose if you
need that size, I could cut a larger paper to that size. Please let me know-
this sounds like a great project!

I have been using Createx for years for monotypes and woodblcocks and am
happy with it.

The bottle says Monotype Colors (Paint on non-porous surfaces, Print on
paper.)
Water-based, Non-toxic, permanent.
Dilute with water.
Extend with Monotype base.

First things first....calendars are going out...slowly...about a third of
the orders are out....so if you have not received yours yet please don't
panic .....they are coming. It has been a very trying December !

We are still getting some signups for the monkey New Year card
exchange.....but in fairness to those who have already sent their prints
(and would like to move on to other things) ....we should probably put a
deadline on signups soon.........how about if we give it another week for
those that might be away from the list for the holidays ?

So, how about Friday January 9th ???? We'll close the signup page after
that.......currently there are at about 50 participants which is about the
same number we had last year. Please check the page often for last-minute
entries.

Goats & now Monkeys........one third of the Chinese Zodiac soon to be
completed. By the time the year 2011 (rabbit) comes around we would have
created (hopefully !) over 600 new year images....or approximately 30,000
prints !!!!

Eventually it would be nice if we could capture all these wonderful images
for posterity in some kind of e-book....perhaps a dvd that could be
searched by artist, year, etc....to include artists bio, selected project
discussion, etc........the time to start such a project would be
now....where we could still go back to the first set of dragon prints and
still have a manageable task at hand.....

anyone on the list interested in such a project ?

they talk about adding the appropriate medium to the pigment but nothing else

Georga, I am sure this will work. Pigent dispersed in water is exactly what most hanga printmakers use. Just add a little water and rice paste and you are set to go.

To Dave Bull, Baren Staff, and All Members...

....a warm, wonderful New Year to You All!

I'm so grateful to have found a home at Barenforum and to have new wonderful
friends. This past June at the BarenSummit was by far a very exciting time
for me. Not only did I make new friends, but I feel as though I've made a
new family.

My hope is that I can pass on to others the Baren Spirit...because it really
is special.

Thank you to everyone for making Baren what it is and what it will continue
to be.

Thanks for your ideas about my new site.

Relating to the Self-portrait project, I think there is a little confusion.
The project belongs to Murilo Pereira From Brazil; I wrote to him in the
forum 2 days ago, telling him my opinion about his idea, but the xerox
copies have to fly down to Brazil and not to Mexico, where I live.
