Thank you to all the participants in the calendar project and all the
people putting orders thru.
Calendar shipping is running a bit behind schedule and I am doubtful all
the orders will be filled by Xmas. If you ordered just single Nudes or
Landscapes or Postcards.....those have slowly started to trickle out of
here and should be to you sometime next week....if you ordered an
assortment of types I am afraid they won't be going out till sometime next
week and obviously late for Xmas.
My apologies, the task has been a bit much for one person and I waited too
long to make it possible to spread the
work among other willing volunteers. Won't bore you with personal details
but the last six months of this year have been a bit stressful on me and I
am thankful of having the project to give me an escape. The notion of
splitting up the work, shipping stuff back and forth and then shipping
separate orders from different cities seemed too confusing and expensive
at the time. We had some late dropouts for which generous bareners
stepped in and did extra prints..thank you so much !...we also had some
issues with format layouts and the outsourcing of some of the printing
work.....it is almost always harder to get it right the first time around
!
Funny note. If you remember, most people voted to not have the prints
mounted but attached so that they could be removed for framing later. The
task of assembling so many calendars (170 calendars X 12 prints X 4
corners per.. !!!!) with clear photo corners is a daunting one....do the
math....specially when over 80% of the prints sent don't have clear cut
corners...I am beginning to hate that "natural uncut/deckle" look !!!!

Anyways..all is not bad news...the project has been lots of fun to
coordinate and plan, the calendars came out really nice IMO, the prints
are wonderful, the participants were generous and supportive all along the
way ....and as I said orders are going out (albeit a bit slow). I hope to
have all the orders filled and shipped by the end of the year........
We still have lots of Postcard and Page calendars available and we would
really like to find a good home for ALL these prints....remember this is a
fund-raiser for the group....if you have found Baren to be of help in your
printmaking, if you have found the discussion estimulating, if you have
found a certain niche among our group....please be supportive.
Email me off-list with any questions or special concerns....
