Comments from the artist: i already had a sea turtle in the works when the call came for the tsunami relief project. It was a u-gouge outline on a 12 x 18"lino block, i found if i tipped him diagonally a bit ,my Sea Turtle would fit on the 10 x 15. so i transferred him to the new block with wax paper, which will lift the ink and then lay it down on another block. i then carved the entire new image of the turtle emerging from the wave with the Fukushima Nuclear plant in background. my turtle is trying to say no more nuclear power please it is unsafe for all .
