[Baren] Exchange #11 ...

Details of [Baren Exchange 11]
  • Medium: woodblock print (hand rubbed or pulled on a press, B&W or colour, any pigments, any paper)
  • Theme: 'Flora'
  • Paper size: 'Oban', a standard paper dimension falling between a range of 10 x 15 inches (25.4 x 38 centimeters) to 10 1/2 x 15 1/2 inches (26.6 x 39.4 centimeters). The same size as Exchanges #1, #3, #5 and #8. Note: in previous exchanges the coordinators have had many problems with prints that don't fit the cases, so this time we must emphasize - oversize prints will be trimmed to fit; if trimming is unacceptable to the artist, the prints must be rejected from the exchange and returned to the maker. No exceptions.
  • Image size: anything within that sheet (w/margin, or bleed), vertical or horizontal orientation.
  • Paper type: no restriction
  • Registration period: One month starting July 1 (or until 30 participants are enrolled)
  • Work period: Three months starting August 1
  • Deadline for finished prints: November 1st, 2001

Coordinator: Michelle Morrell. (Messages from the coordinator will appear as required at the bottom of this page)

From the coordinator:

Deadline for receiving prints: Prints (31 copies: 30 for the exchange participants, and one for the [Baren] archive) are to be received on or before November 1st, 2001. No exceptions to this deadline, please. 'Far-off' participants, please remember to allow enough time for mailing!

Shipping information: All prints should be accompanied by a return address and a remittance to cover return postage. FedEx/Airborne, etc. letter packs with duplicate self-addressed airbills are greatly appreciated. If you choose not to order the storage case, please send your prints in a box that can be reused for shipping the set back to you.

In the US the cheapest way to send the prints is Priority Mail and the post office will give you the box. It is $3.95 for up to 2 lbs. I don't think UPS will be this inexpensive.

Address to which prints should be shipped:
