Birth is the first in a series of three prints, the
others being Life and Death; these works feature Eve and the
serpent as part of the cyclic encounter we all experience.
In 'Birth' the serpent is Eve's companion it observes her
giving birth to mankind within Christian concepts of the apple,
the fruit of knowledge.
'Birth' is a woodcut on Khadi paper.
