The idea has recently been floated that the [Baren] group should
consider making a DVD (or series of DVDs) that would feature members'
work and help to promote our activities.
Making DVDs is now something that is within the reach of anybody
with a modern home computer and a video camera, and having multiple
copies pressed has become quite inexpensive, so this is perhaps
something that we actually could pull off ...
The purpose of this page is to start to collect ideas/suggestions
from the membership for such a possible project.
Here are some random 'thoughts' on content for such a project ...
- - video clips showing 'tours' of members' workspaces ...
- - video slideshows of members' prints ...
- - tutorials on various aspects of woodblock printmaking ...
- - 'one-point' lessons ...
- - files on the disc that would contain the texts currently
'on line' in our Library ...
Now of course, it's very easy to 'think big' and propose some
kind of wonderful disc full of fabulously interesting material, but
in reality, creating good video content is quite difficult. So we
are kind of thinking we should start with something not too complicated.
Just what that would be would depend very much on what skills are
'out there' among the membership of our group.
So, please let us know what you think - and better yet, what you
can do!
I'm interested in this, and would be willing to contribute time/effort
towards seeing it happen ...
