I think the correct word is engrave...but I will ask them and we will see...Scott is a great kite maker and not a printmaker, except very recently.

It may be wood engraving printed with intaglio methods. but for engraving
you must have differently prepared /cut across the grain/ blocks.
Personally I did some works on engraving blocks using drypoint /wchich was
my favourite tool few years ago, I don't like burin/, but i printed it as
relief. On those kind of blocks drypoint works very good - you can draw it
in every directions you want and leave beautiful lines with fat burr.
important questions:
1 do they use engraving wood blocks or something else?
2 how do they print /baren or press/?
3 what kind of paint do they use /water or oil based/?
4 I wold love to see prints (I would know everything then) ;}

Hi Gillyin,

Thank you for your reply.

Oak - I would never have thought of them as Oak.
Australian Oak is a much lighter grained wood. I grew up with Oak
trees on our property in NSW. I loved them for their shape, their
gnarly trunks, their leaves which are now half green and brown and
their acorns of course.

I will go down to Gallery East this week and ask David or Janus what
these blocks are that they have... if they even know.

They did look stunning but to get a very fine grain like they had I was
sure they would have been especially moulded from the original and
repoured to get the positive image.

Thank you.

Hi Suzi,

I only ever use a photocopier to resize all my images.
Simple.

I have all the other programs but my photocopier is perfect and no fuss.
