How many Bareners are full time artists with art is their sole source of income? If there are some in this situation, where did you learn your marketing/business skills? How did you know when to take that leap of faith to be a full time artist? Tell your story, give your advice, so I can learn more about what direction I should head.
Thank you in advance,

Besides Maria's wonderful book, you will find a lot of information on the WetCanvas.com website in both the General Art Business forum and the Internet Sales Strategies forum... The website is free, no fees to belong.

That's a lovely brochure, Barbara. It loaded pretty quickly and I printed it out. Thank you. And all those involved.

The brochure is lovely, and everything you did brought the project forward.
Thank you. I saw that there was something missing on my print - is it the
title? It should be "Still Missing" Bea Gold

Just and update: I received Nancy O. and Diane C. exchange prints this weekend. Fabulous work ladies! Personally, I've run into a problem...of the three ideas I started with....and NONE OF THEM printing well...I've decided to re-cut my favorite. :( Your work has inspired me to try again so I can add something to the exchange that is worthy. Its a good thing there is just over a month left before the deadline! Everyone else in the exchange: Let's get printing!!! Please let me know sooner than later if you are having issues. It would be great if we can get this exchange in and back out to you all on time. From one tired printmaker to another: Peace Out!

Thank you Barbara and Erin, the brochure is beautiful. This is no time for my updated computer and old printer( i don't mean me--) not to be communicating, but I will try to put the pdf on a flash drive and take it to Kinko's -- if that works (I'm not very good at this stuff) -- I'll distribute some brochures in my classes and in my eastside of town haunts. I am so happy to have participated in this work with you all.

Thanks again!

Cheers,

Renee

Barbara,

Great job you've been doing. But I see my name is on the brochure.didn't
you receive my email last month about dropping out? You can erase my name
and put in Sonia's. That would be great.

Thanks,

Terry Peart

After my crush of spring and summer art shows, I was very grateful to have some time away from my home, studio and art tent.  We are lucky to have family in western Montana and like to visit them during the two months of "high season" in July and August.

Rather than flying, my family loads our trusty van and treks west across some tremendously beautiful topography.  My favorite area has always been North Dakota, where undulating yellow-green fields of rapeseed surround glacial lakes of amazingly dark blue water.  Somehow driving gives me a different sense of the land than flying over it.

I have always aspired to be one of those people who takes a sketchbook and watercolors, expertly rendering meaningful moments of their travels.  Unfortunately my fellow travelers do not proceed at this speed, so I resort to a quicker technique -- the camera.  None of my photographs are well-composed, for this is not my intent.  I simply want to capture the exact moment and I experienced it.   Here are two examples of what I saw in western Montana:
