I'd recommend seeing this exhibit. Some of the artists shown
were also featured in the "Woodblock Printing in China
1980-2000" exhibit at the Art Institute within the last few
years.
http://www.bl.uk/onlinegallery/features/chineseprints/tour.html

The prints were varied and excellent, but the size of them was
astonishing!

'South-west series, no 2', the circular last image highlighted,
was 6 feet high, 182.7 cm. by 63" wide 160.5 cm. Click on the
thumbnail.

I returned to view them again and again, -and perhaps a trip
from Chicago to Ann Arbor to see more of these prints isn't out
of the question! I'm sure that you'll enjoy this exhibit, Linda!

The exhibit book "Chinese Printmaking Today", by Ann Farrar, is
a wise investment and a visual treat!

I am a participant in exchange 49, currently printing my prints. (I can't believe I am printing so early, something will probably go terribly wrong.) Anyway, I'm wondering how many people are signed up for this exchange, but don't know how to find out. I have the idea there were less than 30 people since there was so much interest in exchange 50. I know I should have made a note of the coordinator's name and e-mail.... still any info would be appreciated.

Suzi,
You can always find it on the Baren Forum home page...go to www.barenforum.org
and click on Active print exchanges
then on #49, then on the sign up page and all the info should be there
http://www.barenforum.org/exchange/exchange_49/exchange_49.html
you need 31 prints, 30 for the exchange and 1 for the archives. I am still
carving my blocks... you are so clever to be printing already!
My best

After seeing all these beautiful prints that are in file boxes on my kitchen
table...thank you thank you thank you

We need to make a plan for how much money to charge...

I was thinking

if you buy 30 you get them for $40 each so 1200

If you buy all 60 (I actually don't have 60 yet so get then to me) you get all
60 for $2000

if you buy 10 they are $50

if you buy one it is $60 or should it be $75? We sold them for $40 each 10
years ago so seems to me they should be more by now!

Let me know, lets discuss this., we need it online this week

almost all the work I have is scanned...I have learned to knit so can now do the
ones that were too large for my scanner...the paper was not to big but if the
image was in the center and big..I cut off the feet or head...you get the idea.
But now I have learned to do half and half and put it together, so a new skill.
I am famous for cutting off heads...this is why my husband never lets me take
photos at family events...we have to remember what they were wearing to know who
they were.
My best to you all
Barbara
