I vote Yes for the Alliance. Mike your recent print is beautifull and inspiring. Thank you for sharing the steps.

Greetings Bareners,

The Exchange 43 with the theme 'Typography' has arrived in England, UK. I
always anticipate a unique collection of contemporary prints because of our
international isolation. This exchange lives up to all my other themed
print expectations which are brilliant and in the great Baren tradition of
diverse and inclusive woodblock printmaking,

Thank you all for your sterling efforts Eileen in keeping us on task.

Next month I will be doing an art workshop in Cumbria, UK and will show all
my exchange prints along with the collaborative print 'Cairn' organised by
Maria and Carol's 'Lefties can carve' prints. You can now consider
yourselves international printmakers on your CV!

Yes, Barbara, for my subscription vote to the American Print Alliance.

Regards

Harry

The clock is ticking down to this year's HGS exchange in early April and I have been busy busy finish up my print to get in the mail to Japan. After a few set backs with paper I managed to sign my final print this morning to complete the edition of 81 for this year. Here's the final result! Now just counting down the weeks until I get all the other artists' work in return.

Moku hanga printmaking method. The left block will serve as the background color w/mica powder and also as the block for hand embossing (kimedashi) the skier's trail and the enso sun. I left enough surface for my thumb to emboss the sun.

I only left 1/4" border between the image area and the paper trim. Makes for tricky printing but oh well. I don't like trimming after printing.

Bought this U-gouge a couple years ago at Woodcraft store when they were having a sale. It works great for clearing and keeps a sharp edge.
