Thanks, Alynn Guerra
for posting the Day of the Dead print show on your blog website, that you put together last fall. I wanted to participate myself, as this is a poignant theme for me, but the notice time-line was just too short.

I very much appreciated seeing the many approaches to this subject, and especially some of the Barener prints included.

-I was late getting to email but thanks for the link, Sharen -the video
is indeed excellent and the Chicago Institute is one of the 'greats' as
I discovered a few years ago - wish I could revisit...

This is a reminder to all Exchange 43 participants: there are just two weeks left until your delivery deadline, February 1st.

Be sure to log your print information on the colophon page as soon as possible for your coordinator, Eileen. If you haven't already ordered a case for your prints, but would like to do so, please go to the Baren Mall and get that done as soon as possible.

And while in the reminder mode, sign-ups for Exchange 44 will remain open for another two weeks. It is about 2/3 full at this point so we still have some openings. Full details are available on the Baren website.

http://www.barenforum.org/exchange/exchange_44/exchange_44.html

Cases for this exchange are also available for order at the Baren Mall.

Happy Printmaking everyone!

I noticed two of us are still on the one-week holding list for previous exchange participants. When will this be updated? I really would like to be in this exchange as I'm sure would George Jarvis.

Thank you Julio for the hiratsuka link. I enjoyed it and it will have a
connection to anyone who does the unconventional in art
I ( heart )Art Institute of Chicago.
Years ago when passing through Chicago on a trip I went in and saw that
there was a very interesting exhibit opening to Members only the next day.
I told the person at the desk that I was from out of town, passing through
Chicago and so much wanted to see the exhibit.
The person picked up the phone and said she had a VIP to see the such and
such exhibit.! A docent came down and brought me up to the exhibit.
What I saw there was to influence my art for many years. It was a type of
print of Max Ernst and reinforced an idea I was working on.
I owe many thanks to someone in the Art Institute of Chicago. They say
"Only in New York", but no,
"Only in Chicago"
If you are in art long enough, anything can happen and it does!

Harper College Small Works Show prospectus is available here:

http://goforward.harpercollege.edu/page.cfm?p=5627

In earlier years this was a wonderful international print
exhibition. It has changed over the years to include other art
forms, and it has become small in the size of the works entered,
but it retains its high level of quality!

Best wishes,
Sharen
