Hi Mary.

Would you think that the following would be a good "ad" for the issue? If
not, please don't have another moment's thought.

Thanks.

ArtSpot Out
Benny at OMebase with the swine flu! (but doing ok)

Looking for a variety of kinds of art, artists to show at the East Bay Pro
Arts Open Studios. (SF Bay area) in June. Gallery signup closes in Feb. Last
year we were the feature article for "The Oakland Tribune" and another
extensively read paper, had a u-tube video of each artist, a color postcard as
well as a sizeable bunch of us showing together (large turnout of clients,
good sales). Good light, close parking & public transportation. This year
there will be 11 of us. Interviews already begun. Must belong to Pro Arts
Gallery in order to participate. Shared expense $100. We are a community, not
booth rentals, tho everyone gets their own territory. Interested? Benny Alba

I, like Jennifer, would be interested in an annual Moku Hanga exchange to be
built in to the exchange schedule. I admire the work of the oily Bareners,
but my real interest is in water based printing. For balance we could also
have an exclusively oily exchange too. I was so sorry to have not been able
to join in the last one.

Kindest regards,

Mark.

Subject: Performing Woodblock
Posted by: Annie B

Friday Night I set up a temporary studio for a few hours at a storefront venue called Valley Hands and demonstrated woodblock printing during Northampton's monthly Arts Night Out. It was a rollicking evening, and a few brave souls even ventured to try it themselves. Here are some photos from the event.

Watching
We started at around 4:00, and one of my first visitors was a young girl and her mother who quickly got the basic principles figured out.

Busy
It started to get pretty busy at around 6:00
