Hi David, et al,

Thanks again for all your hard work putting together Baren Social.

I hope people are patient with this new network. While FB has been around
for awhile and had time to grow, Ba-so is just a babe and needs all your
milk and honey. I hope everyone joins in for some 'just social' fun in
addition to our raison d'etre, relief printing.

Thanks to all those who have posted their photos. It's great to see the
people behind the prints!

Peace,
Eileen

Regarding Exchange #42, Linda, you can have my place in the exchange and I
will drop on to the waiting list. I have not even begun my print yet. I
have signed up for a lot of early Childhood courses in August and other
projects like a Farmers Market, and teaching art at vacation bible school.
Although I miss the life of the printmaker--see the beautiful photos of the
reception of Andy English in Chicago, I have so many Baren prints sitting
in my basement that it makes me feel ashamed. Someone should be looking at
them and taking them home to hang on the wall.
Solar plates whacked me over the head and Charles Morgan got the result.

Congratulations, Ray! I was just up in Rutland this weekend not too
far from you, so was sorry that I didn't know about the exhibit.
Thanks for the link to your gallery site, though. It was great to get
better acquainted with your work. I really like it!

best,
Annie B

If anyone is passing through Bristol, Vermont--and who wouldn't be?--I have 22 woodcuts at
the WalkOver Gallery on Main Street through August. They don't have a
website, but here's a link to the announcement with a map, etc.: www.7dvt.com/raymond-hudson

One of these days I'll figure out how to do a website or a blog, but
for now a few of my prints are at an online gallery: www.rrwilsonart.com

Best to all,
Ray

Continued from [Forest in Summer - 13] | Starting point of the thread is [Forest in Summer - 1]

After all the greys and duns, it's finally time to add at least a bit of colour!

As we saw back when the carving was going on, the two blocks that will delineate the grasses are very similar. The first one is printed in a quite light green:

... and the second one overlays much of it with a slightly darker shade:
