As reported a while back this week WEN (Woodblock Engravers Network) is
having their annual workshop here in Chicago. The group of about twenty
wood engravers has been alternating their activities between 'work days'
and sight-seeing days and having a blast while visiting our great city. I
believe this is the 15th year of these annual workshops for WEN.

Barener Sharen Linder is hosting the event and has transformed her
basement into an engravers paradise. Not only is there plenty of work room
for everyone but also there are a few old presses & assortments of tools
and other materials on display. Barener Andy English (from England) is
this year's special guest and I happen to drop in on the group yesterday
to listen to Andy's presentation and to meet him in person.

I will post some photos and links later tonight.

thanks......Julio

I went to a steamroller printing event last year at the San Francisco
Center for the Book, and wrote a guest entry about it on my wife's
blog.
There are a lot of photos, so I hope you can glean some technical info
from it.
Basically they used plywood under the prints, and lots and lots of felt
on top.

Its been slow on the print front these days as I prepare to move and travel for a while. That said, I did manage to get this small print together before I take off.
