Annie, what careful carving on your American Shunga block! I'm
enjoying watching your series unfold.
I remember when you first joined Baren and were dabbling in the
Japanese way of carving and printing. You've come a long way and I'm
impressed.

Sue, I couldn't find a way to comment on your carving on the blog,
itself, but just want to let you know I think your seagull block is
coming along nicely. I very much like the composition! Since no one
seems to be posting these days, I forgive myself for posting twice. I
should have covered both yours and Annie's blog posts in one. That
would have been economical of me. :-)

Annie, thank you for the print and explanation of your John and
Priscilla.from a Utamaro shunga. It was on your blog today.

My Eye and Ears is a detail, also from a shunga woodblock print by
Utamaro," Lovers in an Upstairs Room", on the cover of Japonisme--Cultural
Crossroads between Japan and the West by Lionel Lambourne. My print was part of a
Baren open theme #28.

I really enjoy taking details, enlarging them, giving a new interpretation.

Baren also had a shunga exchange, #19.
This was my take on it
