About Seacoast in Winter by David Bull.
Beautiful Dave. I learn very much about this kind of presentation of the process. I wish Baren could publish a book or notebook with these images and explanations.
Sorry , I know you are all busy with tons of work, this is just a nice wish. Maybe to think about it in 5 years????? I could volunteer then.
We could all use them in our classes or projects.
Thank you and best of luck, Guadalupe

Hi All,
After years of being fearful of reduction prints, I decided to try my
first one. I made 12 copies of a 5 color plate (lino, about 6x9) in an
evening, and it was incredibly fun and rewarding -- and exciting. One
of my weaknesses in general, though, which was accentuated by this
process, is my registration. I tried to make a template indicating the
plate's position and the paper, but my paper is hand torn and not 100%
straight, so there were little variations in each one, some more
annoying than others. Does anyone have any advice for how to get
better registration with unmounted lino blocks?
Thanks!

Marisa,
I use the T-bar registration system when doing reductive woodcuts and have
real success with it. It is typically used in lithography but just as
applicable to relief. Hope that helps. Its a lot easier than constructing
elaborate jigs that generally fail when you have a deckled paper edge to
contend with.

Step #10 - Next tone on the sky ...

Step #11 - And the shape of the rocks finally starts to come out ...

Nearly all the texture you now see on those rocks - especially over at the right side - is carved, and not the result of 'goma' printing ...
