Hi, my name is Andrew and I have been quietly reviewing the archives and postings for a while now. Like many others I "majored" in Art in college but ended living off income derived from a different career (I worked for 10 years as an Emergency Room physician) which I gave up when my family and I moved to Italy. My other non-paying careers include parenting two small children and trying to jumpstart an abandoned organic farm in Florence so there isn't a lot of "free time" for artistic production. (For those of you who fret regularly about how little respect artists get in the world try growing vegetables!)
About two years ago I attended one of April Vollmer's workshops in Santa Cruz and started dabbling in Moku Hanga. I started by printing wine labels for our homemade wines and following the quiet prompting of the Baren I always managed to plan on a Chinese Animal Zodiac New Years' Card but never managed to sign up before the sign up closed.
Nevertheless, I've managed to produce a "Year of the Boar" card two years ago and a decent "Year of the Rat" card for this year (to relatives not to the forum). And I just finished my first ever small edition print of 20 from a gesture drawing I did years ago that I always thought would make a decent print.

I'm back in the USA for the Summer and hope to take a break from the farming enough to do some more printmaking and now that I've done enough to have some serious questions I thought I should introduce myself. If I can figure out how to post some JPEG images to the forum I'll post some images some of the pieces I've done.... I don't have a web site or blog yet.
Thanks to all of the regular writers and posters....I have found lots of answers and inspiration in this site, its archives and galleries.
