Greetings to you all,
I thought earlier this year that I would bring my woodblock theme of transcribing fantastic creatures from local Romanesque sources to an end. However, whilst in Southwell Cathedral (UK) looking at bas relief foliage I saw a Saxon dragon which was so different to the ones I was studying. I produced a one off edition and did not think it a diversion to my main theme. How wrong I was because in early summer I found a church at Breedon on the Hill, Leicestershire, UK that contained Anglo - Saxon stone carvings. Many of the strange beasts were damaged beyond formal recognition, but as I mainly transcribe rather than copy objects there is no ethical problem in filling in the unknown. Some of the animals were defined as being in the "Jelling" style (Viking) so on our visit to Northern Germany this summer we took a short detour to Jelling in Denmark to see the archetypal stone carvings of Viking Art....well... enough of this writing : woodblock print images are far more important.
I do hope you will have time to look at them. There are four prints including the Southwell Cathedral dragon : the original diversion!

Thanks Harry

The Dragon prints were interesting and it goes to prove that sometimes simplicity wins.

Thanks so much for your efforts, Diane! The prints arrived in
suburban Chicago this morning!

It's a great collection!

It's a treat, that feeling of opening up such a wonderful
parcel, and sitting down with a cup of coffee and your
printmaker friends' work and just enjoying it all....the smell
of the ink, feeling the papers, enjoying the many ideas in an
open exchange, and the wonderfully accomplished work! Short of
having you all here around the coffee pot with me, it couldn't
have been better!

Thank you all so much!

Hi folks, sorry about the off-topic request, but I know that some of you folks are in the San Francisco Bay area so perhaps you will be able to help.?

My mother, who lives in San Francisco (right in the city), and is a wonderful artist, needs to get digital images of some of her work.? Most of her work is small enough to fit on a scanner.? Do any of you know somewhere in San Francisco that will do a very professional job of this (and that won't break the bank)?

Please write me offline at
cucamongie#aol.com

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Best wishes
Sarah
