Sharri, Do you still need pieces for the exhibit? If yes, I'll put one (or
more) together. I find I have some time to do it now. Bea

Hi Sharri, here are two images I can send, probably just matted.
Pecking Order, woodcut (moku hanga) ; image size 2 "x 4.5"

Woodsii, woodcut,(moku hanga); image size 5" x 23.75"
I have these both framed and unframed, can also bring three others unframed if you feel you need more. I will send an email separately for the three.
I am in the "Artist Window" for a 4 hour slot at our Calgary Exhibition and Stampede in the western Art Showcase next Tuesday (11th) and will send whatever you prefer after that...probably via Fedex. Are you home in the daytime? They usually ask if they should leave it or not if nobody is home.

I'll send the rest of the info with the other 3 pics

P.S. I have peanuts that are made from cornstarch...Daniel Smith uses them. They are great you can just flush them down the toilet or wash them down the sink! And they don't stick to everything.

An Alphabet Exchange sounds wonderful. My classes and I enjoy alphabet books, I teach kindergarten.
At home I carve wood and at school with five year olds we use styrofoam and this year we did collagraphs. They love to make prints. I look forward to how this exchange might develop. I like the idea of it becoming a book, I think either square or rectangular is great. Rectangular with the short side bound instead of the long side is interesting and unusual. Different fonts and interpretations will add depth that sometimes is lacking in alphabet books. It is an exciting idea.

Seems like there is some confusion about the alphabet idea....it is only a proposed idea for an exchange that we might do at some future date. It has nothing to do with the current baren exchanges. #30 is unthemed and we have not even talked about #31 yet.

So relax, don't panic. Your alphabet prints are not due for a long time, if ever....

I want B if course....but an M will be ok too....or maybe a letter from one of my grandkids names....gosh, will I have to do one for each of them? This could make me more crazy that I am. We can have a lot of fun with this...maybe we should do a complete alphabet on one page....there is an alphabet synthesis machine here http://alphabet.tmema.org/ for designing your own alphabet....we can do one that is just for baren and then all learn the language in our spare time. I could not really figure out how to make this machine work...I think it might take a bit of time to do it, but it was fascinating.
Best to all,
Barbara
