Hey Jason, I'm all for a politically themed exchange, but, you may be misinformed about upcoming elections. As far as I know the Barenforum administration is not subject to the challenges of democracy. Long live the Powers that Prevail.

>But with the November 6th election coming up I thought that would be a good idea to have a theme related to the election instead of no-theme for Exchange #30

I've looked at the calendar - definitely no November 6th election here:)

Well, we don't need an election to do a thoughtful piece on the current world situation...I was just looking at Kathy Kollwitz prints and they are timeless....they point out the human condition in stark reality.

The foolishness of governments doing the same thing over and over for decades and centuries is astounding. Names and places change but people seem to remain unthinking till it is almost too late, thus the need for political printmaking. We cannot count TV to do it, it is way too filtered for our evening after dinner hour and slanted to whoever is putting on the current show.

I think a political exchange is way overdue for the baren. I vote for thoughtful instead of shocking....I think printmaking can speak volumes, sort of the image with brush, plate and paper being mightier than the sword. Anyone can slash and burn, it takes a real artist to make you think.
Best to all.
