Hi Summiteers,

I haven't booked a hotel yet, but I'm attracted to the Holiday Inn because
it has wireless internet and a photocopy machine, which I can't imagine
doing without! Am also looking at the Comfort Inn. Looking at the maps, it
seems that both hotels are pretty close to each other, both in the area
called Salmon Creek. I'd love to share the cost of a car rental, so if
anyone would like to share with me, let me know.

[Baren] Daily DigestThanks, Linda, for the Thymol run-down. The flu was making me crazy, I guess.

Hi,
My name is Lee Churchill. I just signed onto this list. I do woodblock, linocut and monoprinting. I was reading Linda's posting asking about Thymol as a fungicide, it is a great fungicide but it is also quite toxic, paper conservators (my day job) stopped using it many years ago. The MSDS for it indicates that it is a general irritant but in the Toxicological information it states: "LD50: 980 mg/kg. Investigated as a mutagen, reproductive effector." Meaning it kills ½ a test population of rodents at 980mg exposure and will potentially do damage to reproductive organs and fetuses. Also under Ecological Information, it is "Dangerous to the environment. Toxic to aquatic organisms; may cause long term adverse effects in the aquatic environment."
There are other less toxic anti-mold substances but refrigerating should keep the paste fresh for a few days and cooking/microwaving up new stuff is safest.
Cheers,
Lee.

Hi Annie, I would be happy to share ride costs with you but I want to talk
with georga Garside first. She's coming from LA also and I want to see
where and when she's planning to come. Let's keep in touch and put it
together. I also am planning 9hoping) to leave on the 22nd to go to an
Elderhostel in Glimmerglass(NYC) for an opera workshop. It's full right now
so I go on a wait list. Do you have plans for after the 19th? Bea

Send Message: To this poster

hi folks, I was away for a few days so I'm going through old posts. Someone had posted about Mino-gami paper, which Carol had found in the Hiromi collection which NY Central carries.

I don't know whether this is the same quality Mino-gami paper, but there is some listed on Hiromi Paper's website, for about 9.00 a sheet:

You might also call Hiromi paper to see if they have other variations on this.

enjoy!
